WILDLIFE RESCUE

The term wildlife includes all untamed animals and plants.  As a result of increased anthropogenic pressure, human - wildlife encounters have become everyday incidences.  The search for food and water often forces wild animals into human habitation. Thus the wild animals which enter residential areas are rescued by VEAB's wildlife rescue team and rehabilitated back into the wild.

Raids are also conducted to sieze illegal captive wildlife.  Injured and sick animals are treated and later rehabilated.

Most of the rescue operations include rescuing snakes from houses.  Sometimes birds suffering from injuries are also encountered.  These are treated and released back into the wild.  Civet cats, mongoose, leopards, hares, monkeys, crocodiles have been successfully rescued and released back to the wild.  The rescue operations are often carried out in association with the Forest Department or other like minded NGOs.
