Environment education and wildlife rescue are at the core of all activities In order to encompass all sections of the society in the conservation movement we organise the following activities:
Nature Orientation camps
Residential Nature Orientation camps are organised by VEAB for various educational institutions and also for general public. These camps are organised in some of the remote forest areas of Goa to let the people get a feel of the wilderness of Goa's forests.

The camp activities are designed in such a way that the participants are left with a lasting impession on their minds about the conservation issues. Participants are practically made to understand how vital their role is in the conservation movement.
Nature trails and birdwatching trips
Nature trails play an important role in letting the participant understand our surroundings practically through observations. They consists of small walks in gardens, forest or just another path. The aim of a Nature trail is to make the students go beyond the walls of a class room. The participants are guided by the resource persons to observe nature and the components in it. They are made to prepare field notes.
Slide shows, lectures on wildlife, biodiversity, snakes, birds, solid waste management, water harvesting etc. are conducted for various educational institutions, village people, corporates and other interested groups by our resource persons many of whom are also members of VEAB.
Street plays have been one of our tools for spreading the message of conservation to the rural parts and the urban areas of Goa alike. Street plays play an important role in spreading awareness regarding water conservation, tree plantation and value of protected areas.
These are also organised to draw attention of the public to key issues like ill effects of rampant use of plastics, capturing or poaching of wild animals, deforestation, large dams, illegal mining.
Cycle Rallies are also organised for awareness of issues demanding urgent attention.

Tree plantation programmes are organised with schools and village people for planting indigenous species of trees.
Adventure activities like rock climbing, trekking are sometimes organised to attract people to the wilderness.

Wildlife photo exhibitions are held on a regular basis to give the city people a glimpse of what exists in Goa's forests, and for the village people to know what lies in their backyard. We have got very good response from the people about these exhibitions in terms of questions and discussions which are generally possible otherwise within short time frames. Framed photographs are sold to generate funds for the activities. |
